The Journey

From the cherry on the branch to the cup in your hand.

This is the trip Kris Hehl runs each year alongside Green Haven Imports, the importer behind the direct trade relationships you taste in every bag. It is a working coffee journey, not a resort holiday. You move through the highland regions that grow Nicaragua's best beans, meet the producers by name, and follow the harvest from the picked cherry through washing, drying, milling, and the cupping table.

Days open with cloud forest air and close over dinner in a colonial courtyard. Between them: rugged 4x4 roads to farms most visitors never reach, four or more guided cuppings, a tour of a working processing facility, a cigar factory in Esteli, and a full day on the slopes of Mombacho Volcano. The group stays small, capped at ten, so the producers have time for real conversation.
