Under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation, permission based on an inquiry is time-limited, so a visitor who has only made an inquiry will not receive ongoing marketing unless they choose to opt in.
This website is hosted by Netlify, and the inquiry form is handled by Netlify's form service. When the form is submitted, Netlify records the submission and sends it to Kris Hehl's business email at khehl@thetravelagentnextdoor.com. Netlify is a United States company and stores form submissions on its servers in the United States until they are deleted.
Some tour sign-ups are collected through Microsoft Forms, reached by a link on the relevant tour page. Microsoft receives and stores those submissions on its own servers, which may be located outside Canada.
Because these providers store information outside Canada, that information may be accessible to the authorities of those countries under their laws. Kris Hehl chooses providers that are expected to protect personal information to a comparable standard and to use it only to deliver their service.
This website does not set its own cookies, and it does not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or analytics scripts that run in your browser. It does not build a profile of your activity.
To display its pages, the website loads fonts, images, and a map library from external providers (Google Fonts, Unsplash, jsDelivr, and d3js.org). Personal information is kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. Inquiry details for a trip that does not go ahead are kept for a limited period and then deleted. Information tied to a booked trip is kept for the time needed to support that trip and to meet record-keeping obligations.
A visitor can ask for their information to be deleted at any time, subject to those requirements.
Inquiry submissions stored by the website host (Netlify) are cleared from that store on a regular basis once the inquiry has been handled, so they are not kept there indefinitely.

This website is intended for adults planning travel. Kris Hehl does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Where a trip involves children, their details are provided by the adult who is arranging the travel.
